It all seemed so simple 12 years ago when Kevin Durant debuted a futuristic colorway of his fourth signature sneaker during an MVP performance in the 2012 NBA All-Star Game.

Since then, Durant's illustrious career has taken every twist and turn imaginable before leading him to where he is now - vying for a championship with the Phoenix Suns. But with NBA All-Star Weekend coming up, Nike is reprising one of the most popular sneakers from Durant's signature line.

The Nike KD 4 'Galaxy' will be released at 10:00 a.m. EST on Thursday, February 15. Online shoppers can purchase the iconic hoop shoes for $130 in adult sizes on the Nike SNKRS website and app. Below is a detailed look at the sneakers and the story behind the colorway.

Durant's 'Galaxy' colorway was part of a larger space-theme collection inspired by the Kennedy Space Center for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game held in Orlando, Florida. The Nike KD 4 'Galaxy' sported a metallic silver upper, orange detailing, and mesmerizing black midsole.

According to Nike's product description, "Zoom Air in the forefoot brings the bounce, and the midfoot strap helps lock you in. And with special edition details like space mission patches and a speckled, starry-sky midsole, this KD 4 is ready for liftoff."

At 35 years old, Durant has solidified his place in the basketball world and sneaker industry through two NBA Finals MVP awards and a lifetime contract with Nike. If anyone can take a victory lap, it is the "Slim Reaper."
