The NBA cannot go a day without being overly dramatic, and last night was no exception. LeBron James tallied 40 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists, but it was not enough to secure the must-win game.

However, the Denver Nuggets completing their sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers will not be the biggest storyline from the game. According to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, James is unsure if he’ll be with the Lakers when next season starts in the fall, and "retirement is under consideration."

We at FanNation Kicks feel confident that James will return for his 21st season. The league's all-time leading point scorer has expressed a desire to play with his oldest son, Bronny James, not to mention the two-year contract extension he signed last August.

If last night's heartbreaking loss was just the end of his season or possibly career, James went out in style. On the 20th anniversary of his first sneaker deal with Nike, James debuted an unreleased colorway of his newest shoes.

James wore the Nike LeBron NXXT Gen in an unreleased colorway during Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals. The shoes feature a grey open-hole mesh upper, contrasted by white and gold Swoosh logos.

The new kicks have not hit shelves yet, but fans still have plenty of options. There are four colorways of the model available for $160 on the Nike website. Plus, 13 colorways of the Nike LeBron 20 are available, some of which are at a discounted price online.

The entire 2022-23 NBA season was a celebration for James and Nike, which was two decades in the making. It is somewhat poetic that James' season (and perhaps career) ends on the 20th anniversary of his initial sneaker deal with Nike.

It should be an eventful offseason for both the Lakers and James. Stay locked into FanNationKicks.com to follow this story and learn more about what your favorite athletes wear on and off the court.
