In this story:

A lot changes over 20 years. People come and go, trends rise and disappear, but there has been one constant over the past two decades - LeBron James. The 37-year-old is the definition of longevity and sustained excellence. So it is only fitting that we kick off our sneakers coverage by celebrating the Nike LeBron 20.

Last week, the Los Angeles Lakers forward teased his latest signature sneaker. While the tech specs are yet to be announced, the shoe is visibly a stark departure from previous models. The almost entirely pink shoe is a low-cut model which has historically come after a high-top version is released first.

Naturally, a large swoosh sits on both the medial and lateral sides of the shoe. However, upon closer look, the swoosh slightly jets off of the shoe's lateral side - perhaps a nod to James taking off for flight. It appears that Nike is sticking with a lightweight, breathable knit upper and leather around the tongue embroidered with James' signature.

James will start his 20th NBA season in the fall and celebrate two decades with Nike in 2023. It's no surprise that the face of Nike Basketball receives the best that the world's largest sports apparel company has to offer. The two parties are already coming out of the gates with a different approach than in previous years.

Of course, the release date of the Nike LeBron 20 is yet to be announced. Typically, the launch of the shoe takes place late in the summer. We will cover James as well and the rest of the basketball world here on FanNation Kicks. Stay locked in for breaking news, interviews, and long-form storytelling surrounding hoop shoes.
