With a global audience enjoying the start of the MLB World Tour: Seoul Series, New Balance has made a splashy announcement. On Monday evening, New Balance and Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani officially revealed the two-time American League MVP’s logo.

As the only player in MLB history to receive multiple American League MVP titles through a unanimous vote, Ohtani continues to break records in baseball and bring new fans to the sport.

Ohtani’s logo shows his athleticism and unique ability as a hitter and pitcher marking a significant moment in an already historic career. Ohtani's love of the game is most evident in his base running, and his logo is a sketch of him rounding first base; a nod to his base running ability which further highlights his dominance in the sport.

"To finally reveal this special logo that I’ve worked closely on is truly an exciting moment for me," says Ohtani. "It is a visual representation of my journey in baseball, and I am excited to share it with the world. I also look forward to using this logo with future projects that we will reveal throughout the 2024 season."

To celebrate Ohtani’s new logo, New Balance will host an exclusive pop-up at the brand’s Brentwood location on Wednesday, March 27 from 3-7 p.m. where fans can purchase a limited-edition t-shirt featuring the new logo. In addition, New Balance and Ohtani will have 50 New Balance gloves available for sale that are replicas of the very glove that was created specifically for Ohtani.

“Since joining forces with New Balance, Shohei Ohtani has been nothing short of incredible to work with both on and off the diamond. We have collaborated with Shohei on charitable endeavors in Japan, global brand storytelling, product, and a lot more still to come,” says Chris Davis, New Balance's Chief Marketing Officer and SVP of Merchandising.

“Shohei is truly a reflection of our values, and this is just the beginning. We will continue to innovate, inspire, and give back in a way that can only be expressed through Shohei.”

To further commemorate the new logo and the start of the new baseball season, New Balance will debut a new We Got Now campaign spot featuring Ohtani. The new ad will be featured across broadcast and out-of-home advertising around the world, giving fans another look at one of the best athletes in the world.

It is guaranteed to be an exciting MLB season, with Ohtani and New Balance taking their partnership to the next level. Stay locked into FanNationKicks.com and follow me (@Pat_Benson_Jr) for all your footwear news from the sports world.
