First impressions are everything, and the introduction of Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker's signature sneaker line has been suboptimal. Drake debuted the Nike Book 1 in a concert last summer, but it was followed by a series of marketing missteps.

The drama came to a head last month when Booker acknowledged issues with the rocky rollout of the Nike Book 1. With the first real launch of the model coming up (not counting the laughably small 500-pair release in December), Nike is working to reset the narrative surrounding the new hoop shoe.

In a brief Instagram video, Nike did what it does best - tell a story. Nike welcomes athletes and fans to the "World of Book," which weaves parts of Booker and the brand's history into a coherent story. Check out the video below.

No brand can market like Nike, and it is good to see their storytelling machine leap into action after languishing over the past few months. Even better, athletes and fans will finally get a shot at purchasing Booker's debut hoop shoe.

The Nike Book 1 'Mirage' will be released on February 17 on the Nike SNKRS website and app, as well as select retailers. Unfortunately, tech specs for the performance basketball shoe remain a mystery. The situation surrounding Booker's sneaker line still is not ideal, but today is a step in the right direction.

Last month, we listed five easy steps Nike can take to save the launch of Booker's first signature sneaker. It may be too late to make a great first impression, but it is impossible for a hoop shoe to fail before it even hits the shelves.

The NBA All-Star Game is right around the corner and it is safe to expect Booker and Nike to make some noise on the court and footwear industry. Stay locked into FanNationKicks.com to learn more about what your favorite athletes wear on and off the field.
