It is common for the top college basketball programs to receive player-exclusive colorways of a brand's most popular sneakers. This is especially true for Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James and the Ohio State Buckeyes. "The kid from Akron" never represented the Buckeyes on the basketball court, but he has shown love to the athletic program at every opportunity.

One of the perks of suiting up in scarlet and grey is receiving James' latest Nike sneakers. On Friday afternoon, Ohio State's social media team shared pictures of the squad's recently received sneakers from James and the Swoosh. Check out the Instagram post below for a detailed look at the hoop shoes.

We can see that Buckeyes basketball players received two colorways of the Nike LeBron 21 and three colorways of the Nike LeBron NXXT Gen. The design team in Beaverton, Oregon, did an excellent job of designing colorways that pop on the court and complement the team's uniforms.

Unfortunately for fans, these Buckeyes-themed sneakers will never be released to the public. The silver lining is that online shoppers can choose between multiple colorways of both basketball shoes at a discount in select styles on the Nike website.

Every installment in James' signature sneaker line is always a hit in the basketball community. But the player-exclusive colorways that go to the NCAA's best athletic programs are always some of our personal favorites.
