Russell Westbrook Gifts Fan Jordan Brand Shoes
Since trading for Russell Westbrook in August 2021, the Los Angeles Lakers have not had much success. There is plenty of blame to go around for the Lakers' problems on the court. However, Westbrook has drawn the ire of many fans.
From mean nicknames to harsh insults, Westbrook has had to endure a lot since putting on the purple and gold. It has not been the hometown welcome the UCLA Bruins legend had hoped for 15 months ago.
Despite having every reason to hold a grudge against fans, Westbrook continues to rise above it. Following last night's win over the Detroit Pistons, the 9x NBA All-Star made a quick detour on his way to the locker room.
Westbrook came back out of the tunnel to give his game-worn Jordan Brand shoes to a young fan. Twitter user Samantha Hermann shared the video online and thanked Westbrook for making the kid's first NBA game so memorable.
Jordan Why Not .5
Throughout this season, Westbrook has worn the Jordan Why Not .5. The performance basketball shoe is the fifth installment in Westbrook's signature line with Jordan Brand.
Fans can purchase the shoes on the Jordan Brand website for anywhere between $107-$130. The Jordan Why Not .5 contains a large volume Zoom Air unit for cushioning. Additionally, it features a webbing fit system to support explosive players like Westbrook.
Images of Westbrook's sixth signature shoe have already surfaced online. However, we hate to see the Jordan Why Not .5 leave. Much like Westbrook's game, his sneaker line is painfully underappreciated.
