Stephen Curry & LeBron James' Wear Familiar Shoes in Game 2
One of the many reasons why the NBA Playoffs are the best tournament in the sports world is because of all the sneakers that debut on a nightly basis. However, sometimes players want to stick with familiar kicks on the hardwood.
That is exactly what happened during Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Thursday night. Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors to victory in a pair of retro shoes we have seen before.
Meanwhile, LeBron James wore a new model in a familiar colorway. Below is what fans need to know about the shoes worn by two of the game's all-time greats last night.
Under Armour Curry 1 Low FloTro
Last night, Curry went back to his first signature shoe with Under Armour (albeit with impressive technical upgrades). Curry wore the Curry 1 Low FloTro "Eat.Learn.Play." The white, teal, and orange colorway pays tribute to Stephen and Ayesha's charitable foundation.
As for the model, the Curry 1 Low FloTro features a similar build but with updated technology from its predecessor, which launched ten years ago. The performance shoes combine the light, grippy speed of UA Flow cushioning with the custom feel of the Curry 1's form-fitting upper.
While the brightly-colored shoes will remain a player-exclusive colorway, fans can still purchase the same model. The Curry 1 Low FloTro and other models are available on the Curry Brand website.
Nike LeBron NXXT Gen
In contrast to Curry, James opted to play in his newest shoes from Nike. Earlier this year, the Nike LeBron NXXT Gen was released as the counterpart to James' 20th signature sneaker with the Swoosh.
While fans anxiously await to see if the James' "Lakers" colorway releases, there are plenty of other options. The model, as well as new and retro shoes from James' collection, are available on the Nike website.
The Nike LeBron NXXT Gen is designed to make you feel faster and lower on the court. Two separate Zoom Air units are strategically placed in the forefoot and heel. Meanwhile, the multidirectional traction pattern (which doubles as a map of Akron) provides the foundation of the shoe.
