Stephen Curry's Retro Sneakers Highlight His New Book
The Golden State Warriors enjoyed a 134-120 statement win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night. Warriors point guard Stephen Curry led the way with 23 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists. Best of all, he debuted some one-of-one sneakers.
During the intense road game, Curry kept it light by wearing the Curry 4 FloTro "I Am Extraordinary" colorway. The player-exclusive colorway of Curry's fourth signature sneaker with Under Armour helps bring the pages of I Am Extraordinary to life on the court. The teal and purple sneakers feature several easter eggs for young readers:
- The colorway is inspired by Zoe, the main character, using the colors of her soccer jersey.
- Items debossed on the outside of the shoes, such as the brush, the mirror, the butterfly, flower, etc., are all hidden items that young readers are challenged to find at the end of the book.
- The FloTro hang tag shows pictures of Zoe and Stephen.
I Am Extraordinary, which was released on March 12 through his Unanimous Publishing, is the powerful story of a young girl named Zoe who just started at a new school and dreams of joining the soccer team.
Zoe is nervous to try out because she uses hearing aids, and she worries how her new teammates will react to her being different. However, when she meets a group of supportive girls, Zoe learns that she isn’t the only one different because they all are. With their support, Zoe realizes that her hearing aids are her very own super power and what makes her extraordinary.
I Am Extraordinary is for any kid who has ever felt underrated or been told they are too small, too slow, or just different. Through this project, Stephen continues to teach readers about the power of being underrated, no matter what struggles they are up against.
