StockX Lists the 5 Most Counterfeited Sneakers

StockX listed the five most commonly found counterfeit sneakers on its platform.

The sneaker industry can be toughest on its most invested enthusiasts. Artificial shortages, shock drops, and bots can dissuade the most passionate of sneakerheads from even pursuing the kicks they want.

Technology has transformed the game and left the community with mixed results. However, the sneaker resale platform StockX continues to strive for transparency by providing data to the public.

On Thursday night, StockX provided its latest "Big Facts" report, which uncovers the company's key verification metrics from the past 12 months. Consumers gained insight into the volume of fake sneakers caught by StockX. Additionally, we learned the five most commonly found fake sneakers over the past year.

The adidas Yeezy Slide 'Pure' (Restock Pair) is the fifth-most commonly found fake model detected by StockX. Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) tore down the sneaker giant he helped build with adidas with highly-controversial remarks, but his footwear still lives on.

The adidas Yeezy Slide 'Pure' was restocked on December 13, 2021. The slides had a retail price of $60 and now have an average resale price of $162 on StockX. Fans of the slides should rest easy knowing the company is weeding out the fakes.

The fourth most commonly found fake is the Air Jordan 1 High in the 'Dark Mocha' colorway. The first installment of Michael Jordan's legendary sneaker line might be the best because of the timeless silhouette that lends itself to so many appealing colorways.

The Air Jordan 1 High 'Dark Mocha' was released on October 31, 2020. The shoes had a retail price of $170 and now have an average resale price of $493 on StockX. This is the second consecutive year this shoe has made this list.

Ye is not the only rapper to transform the sneaker industry. Travis Scott has collaborated on several projects with Nike and Jordan Brand, with his most popular sneaker dropping last summer.

The Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low 'Reverse Mocha' was released on July 21, 2022. The shoes had a retail price of $150 and now have an average resale price of $1,163 on StockX.

adidas Yeezy Slide 'Onyx'

The second most commonly found fake is the adidas Yeezy Slide in the 'Onyx' colorway. The slide has become a favorite among Ye fans since its first reveal at the Donda 2 listening event in Miami in February 2022.

The adidas Yeezy Slide 'Onyx' was released on March 7, 2022. The all-black slide had a retail price of $60 and now has an average resale price of $142X on StockX.

Nike Dunk Low 'Panda'

It should come as no surprise to sneakerheads that the most popular shoe is also the most commonly found fake. Over the past year, StockX found more fake Nike Dunk Lows in the 'Panda' colorway than any other model.

The Nike Dunk Low 'Panda' has been re-released countless times over the past two years at a retail price of $110. The ubiquitous sneakers now have an average resale price of $172 on StockX

Could this be the end of "Panda-mic"? Judging by what we see at local malls and restaurants, the old-school basketball shoe is as popular as ever. Luckily, StockX is helping keep the dupes out.
