For the first time in almost 30 years, Los Angeles will host one of golf’s major tournaments. The 2023 U.S. Open is just over a week away, and Jordan Brand is celebrating the event in style.

In honor of one of the major tournaments taking place on Father’s Day weekend (June 15-18), athletes and fans will be treated to a rare release of the Air Jordan 6 Golf. The model showcases speed and class and is laden with true early-1990s touches like visible Air and a translucent plastic sole.

The Jordan 6 'U.S. Open' is scheduled to release on Friday, June 16 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Online shoppers can purchase the golf shoes for $220 in adult sizes on the Nike website and at Golf Galaxy.

This special design celebrates the City of Angels, the host city of the 2023 U.S. Open and where the summertime aura is always immaculate and electric, yet relaxed.

The Metallic Silver overlays speak to Tinseltown’s VIP vibes, while spray-paint-can-like lace tips nod to the gritty and grimy graffiti craft that canvases special parts of the city. Below is what athletes need to know about the shoe's tech specs.

Michael Jordan's German AJ 6 sports car served as the inspiration for the original shoe's design, with its very essence conveying speed and class. A molded heel tab is on the back of the shoe, something Jordan himself required back in 1991 so that it wouldn’t hit his Achilles tendon when putting it on.

The Action Grape and Metallic Silver upper provide water-repellency in all weather conditions. Meanwhile, the lightweight foam midsole provides comfort and stability throughout your round. Lastly, spikes on the outsole add grip and stability for the course.

Now that the warmer weather months have arrived, now is the time to invest in a new pair of golf shoes. Athletes would be hard-pressed to find footwear that is more stylish and memorable than the Jordan 6 'U.S. Open' colorway.
