Perhaps more than any other professional athletes, NBA players are the pickiest - especially when it comes to their sneakers. Their focus on footwear crosses beyond attentiveness, almost into superstition.

Some players cycle through new sneakers every game, while others wear the same pair of kicks until they crumble on the court. A cold start can result in a change at halftime, and a highlight night can forever endear a specific pair of sneakers to a player.

Despite NBA players being notoriously choosy when it comes to their sneakers, a new performance basketball shoe is quickly sweeping the league. WNBA All-Star and New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu's signature Nike sneakers are becoming all the rage in the association.

After months of anticipation, the Nike Sabrina 1 was officially launched on September 1, 2023. Fans can choose between a wide selection of colorways and customize their own pair on the Nike website.

Of course, the hoop shoes perform well on the court. The lightweight silhouette contains a top-loaded forefoot Air Zoom unit with a full-length React foam core to deliver the ideal balance of stability, ground control, and cushioning.

Players such as Jordan Clarkson, Jrue Holiday, Mikal Bridges, Jordan Poole, and Max Strus are just a few of the many NBA players hooping in Ionscu's first signature sneaker this season. In a copycat league, the impact of Ionescu's sneakers will continue to grow with time. Follow FanNationKicks.com for all your footwear news in the sports world.
