Super Bowl LVIII was excellent from start to finish. While the overtime thriller was a game NFL fans won't soon forget, so too was Usher's iconic halftime show.

The King of R&B played all the hits while sharing the stage with incredible guest performers and backup dancers. The entire show was a dream for millennials, causing flashbacks to sweaty middle school dances held in school gymnasiums over two decades ago.

During one of his many wardrobe changes, Usher laced up a pair of never-before-seen retro Air Jordan sneakers. However, Usher almost had a minor wardrobe malfunction of his own.

According to Complex Sneakers, Usher's metallic silver sneakers began as a collaborative concept with Jordan Brand. Unfortunately, unknown logistical issues prevented the sneakers from being created and delivered in time for the Big Game.

Luckily for Usher, a prominent sneaker artist known as "The Surgeon" stepped up to customize a one-of-one pair of sneakers for the award-winning performer. Over the years, The Surgeon has become the go-to artist for athletes wanting their own pair of cleats or sneakers.

As always, The Surgeon rose to the occasion to deliver a pair of exquisite sneakers. Usher wore the Air Jordan 4 in a chrome silver colorway with blue detailing. Usher has a history of chromed-out Air Jordan sneakers dating back many years.

Last night's pair of Air Jordan 4s featured incredible detailing, such as the Roman numeral "IV" that appears on the tongue as a nod to the model and Usher's full name (Usher Raymond IV). Lastly, a cursive "U" on the back heel provides the finishing touches.

Just like the Air Jordan 4, Usher and his musical catalog continue to age like fine wine. His halftime show would have been a hit regardless of his wardrobe choices, but his footwear did catapult him into sneaker history.
