A lot has changed for Damian Lillard over the past few months, but the Milwaukee Bucks point guard remains a man of the people. The unheralded recruit that later turned into a 7x NBA All-Star has always kept the same beliefs, even if that meant taking the path less traveled.

Many fans and sneakerheads have wondered about the direction of Lillard's signature sneaker line with adidas. The 9th installment never arrived. Instead, we received the adidas Dame 8 EXTPLY (a remixed edition of Lillard's eighth signature sneaker) and the affordably priced Dame Certified line.

On Thursday morning, Lillard unveiled the second installment of the Dame Certified line and offered the reasoning for the direction of his sneaker line through a series of social media posts.

Lillard said, "I’ve always worked with adidas to make sure that my main Dame signature shoes are reasonably priced for the higher-end performance hoop shoe category. Even with that, I realized that some of my fans would still be priced out, so I asked adidas to develop another signature line for me that could be sold for $90."

Lillard continued, "I think the Certified 2s turned out great and no one that chooses these will feel like they settled or got left out. I wore em [sic] in last night’s win and Marjon has worn em [sic] a bunch of times this season."

Athletes and fans can shop Lillard's sneaker collection on the adidas website. For the first time in his career, Lillard is teamed up with another All-NBA player in Giannis Antetokounmpo, and the sky is the limit for the Milwaukee Bucks. It's safe to assume that adidas will be by Lillard's side as he makes a run at the Larry O'Brien Trophy.
