Kyrie Irving Debuts ANTA KAI 1 in Mavericks Game
What is better than facing off against your old team in a nationally televised game? Doing so in your first signature sneaker with a new brand. That is what Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving did tonight against the Brooklyn Nets.
Irving debuted the ANTA KAI 1 in the "Artist On Court" colorway. After starting the NBA season in the ANTA Shock Wave 5, Irving began wear-testing different versions of his first signature sneaker during games.
It appears the enigmatic point guard and his new sneaker sponsor have officially settled on a model. Check out the social media post from Boardroom's Nick DePaula below for a detailed look at the purple and pink colorway.
Irving's 2022 split with Nike is well-documented. After spending most of last season as a sneaker free agent, Irving signed a five-year footwear and apparel deal with the Chinese brand ANTA. The contract made Irving the Chief Creative Officer of ANTA Basketball.
That is not the only move Irving has made in the sneaker industry. In December, Irving invested in the sneaker platform KICKS CREW, becoming the company's Chief Community Officer.
There is still no official release date, tech specs, or pricing for the ANTA KAI 1. However, it is safe to assume ANTA and Irving are ready to bring the heat over the coming months for the final stretch of the regular season.
