LeBron James' Nike Sneakers Honor New York High School
Basketball fans hoping for a competitive game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers were not in luck on Monday night. Philadelphia dismantled Los Angeles 138-94 in a snoozefest. However, spectators can always count on at least one Lakers player to perform at a high level.
Lakers forward LeBron James scored an efficient 18 points before going out early in the fourth quarter. Even better, he debuted some serious heat with his signature Nike sneakers.
James has worn his 21st signature sneaker throughout most of this season, but he brought back the Nike LeBron 20 in a special colorway on Monday night. James' hoop shoes paid tribute to Christ the King High School of Queens, New York. Below is everything fans must know about the special kicks and James' relationship with the school.
Nike LeBron 20
James caught the attention of the sneaker community on Monday night by debuting a never-before-seen gold and maroon colorway of the Nike LeBron 20. The 'Christ the King High School' colorway sports the school's colors and its 'K' logo on the back heel.
James has a long history with the private Catholic school. In 2018, the perennial NBA All-Star visited Christ the King High School and surprised its boys' and girls' basketball teams with new locker rooms and gear. Although James played for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, that has not stopped him from generously supporting countless schools around the country.
Unfortunately for the rest of us, the Nike LeBron 20 'Christ the King High School' will remain a player-exclusive colorway. However, fans can find James' new and retro sneakers at a discount on the Nike website. Follow FanNationKicks.com for all your sneaker news.
