Real Madrid Player Ratings vs Chelsea
Thibaut Courtois 7/10
Made an important save to deny Joao Felix in the second minute and an even better one to thwart Raheem Sterling moments after Benzema had put Real 1-0 up.
Dani Carvajal 7/10
Was rarely troubled defensively. Supplied an excellent pass in the build-up to Benzema's goal.
Eder Militao 7/10
Was part of a Real back four that played a very high line. His pace bailed his team out on more than one occasion.
David Alaba 7/10
Read the game well. Made more interceptions (4) than any other player on the pitch.
Eduardo Camavinga 6/10
Did a solid job on his ninth appearance as a stand-in left-back this season. Shown a yellow card after just seven minutes for fouling Raheem Sterling, but played the rest of the game with composure until being subbed off late on.
Federico Valverde 7/10
A performance full of energy from the youngest member of Real's midfield. His pressing did not afford Chelsea's defenders a moment of peace.
Toni Kroos 7/10
Completed more passes (81) than any other Real player, despite coming off in the 83rd minute.
Luka Modric 6/10
Not at his dazzling best but still impressed in flashes.
Rodrygo 6/10
Was playing on the less busy side of the field but helped Real stretch the game by staying wide. Made a well-timed burst forward that resulted in Chilwell's red card.
Karim Benzema 7/10
Scored his side's crucial first goal and could have had more. Wasted a golden chance to make it 3-0 in stoppage time.
Vinicius Junior 8/10
Had both Reece James and Wesley Fofana on toast all night. It was his shot that Kepa Arrizabalaga spilled into Benzema's path for the first goal. The Brazilian then teed up Asensio to make it 2-0.
