Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been included on a 10-man shortlist for the 2023 Yachine Trophy.

Ramsdale is one of four Premier League stoppers nominated, along with Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez, Manchester City's Ederson and Manchester United summer signing Andre Onana.

Mike Maignan, Yassine Bounou, Dominik Livakovic, Brice Samba, Thibaut Courtois and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen are also among the nominees for the award, which will be presented to the winner during the Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris on October 30.

Bounou and Onana have also been included on a 30-man shortlist for the 2023 men's Ballon d'Or award.

Ramsdale's inclusion on the list caught many fans by surprise.

The former Sheffield United star was only England's back-up keeper at last year's World Cup, while there have been rumors that he could soon lose his place as Arsenal no.1 to David Raya.

Ramsdale responded to news of his nomination by tweeting: "Incredible feeling to receive a nomination of this magnitude, one which I will remember for a long long time!"

Many shocked fans then also took to Twitter to share their reaction to the shortlist.

One tweeted: "How is Ramsdale anywhere near this list?"

Multiple Liverpool supporters also expressed their bemusement at Ramsdale being shortlisted ahead of Alisson Becker.
