Achraf Hakimi is set to play for Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday for the first time since French prosecutors formally launched an investigation into an allegation of rape.

The 24-year-old is accused of raping a woman at his home last month.

On Friday morning last week, it was revealed that a pre-trial judge would look over the merits of the case against Hakimi, who was questioned by investigators on Thursday.

Hakimi's lawyer, Fanny Colin, has described the accusation as "false" and said that the Morocco international is the victim of "attempted racketeering".

PSG also backed Hakimi in a statement last week.

It read: "The club supports the player, who has firmly denied the accusations and trusts the justice system. Paris Saint-Germain is an institution that promotes respect on and off the pitch."

Hakimi did not play in Saturday's 4-2 win over Nantes but he sat among the crowd at the Parc des Princes. His absence from the pitch was due to a hamstring injury.

But he is expected to recover from that injury in time to feature in the second leg of PSG's Champions League last 16 clash with Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Hakimi has been named in PSG's traveling squad for the game in Germany.

PSG will be without star striker Neymar, who has been ruled out for the season after it was decided that he needed ankle surgery.

Bayern lead 1-0 from the first leg.
