Aitana Bonmati Wins Golden Ball At Women's World Cup As Salma Paralluelo And Mary Earps Also Receive Awards
Midfielder Aitana Bonmati was presented with the Golden Ball award after playing a key role in Spain's success at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Bonmati, 25, received her award shortly after Spain beat England 1-0 in Sunday's final.
Barcelona star Bonmati played in all seven of her team's games at the tournament, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old Spain winger Salma Paralluelo won the FIFA Best Young Player Award.
Paralluelo scored in 2-1 wins over the Netherlands and Sweden in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively.
The Golden Glove prize - given to the player voted as the tournament's best goalkeeper - was awarded to Mary Earps.
England stopper Earps, 30, kept three clean sheets in seven games for the Lionesses and saved a penalty kick in Sunday's final.
The Golden Boot was won by Japan's Hinata Miyazawa, who was the tournament's top scorer with five goals.
Midfielder Miyazawa, 23, is the second Japanese player to win the Golden Boot at a Women's World Cup, after Homare Sawa in 2011.
