Cristiano Ronaldo is set to finish a second consecutive season without winning a team trophy after Al Nassr's Saudi Pro League title bid ended on Saturday night.

Al Nassr drew 1-1 away to Ettifaq while leaders Al-Ittihad sealed their first league title since 2009 with a 3-0 victory at Al Feiha.

Those results left Al-Ittihad, who are managed by former Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo, five points above Al Nassr with just one round of fixtures remaining.

This was not the first time that Al-Ittihad had ended Ronaldo's hopes of winning a trophy this season.

In January, Al Nassr lost 3-1 to Al-Ittihad in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup in what was Ronaldo's second match for the club.

Al Nassr then exited the King Cup in April when they lost 1-0 at home to Al-Wehda.

Ronaldo has won 30 team trophies during his glittering club career with the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid.

But the 38-year-old has not won any silverware since helping Juventus to Coppa Italia glory in May 2021.
