Antonio Conte Suffers Biggest Loss As Tottenham Manager
Antonio Conte endured a miserable return to the dugout on Saturday as his Tottenham team lost 4-1 at Leicester City.
Conte had missed last weekend's 1-0 win over Manchester City after undergoing gallbladder surgery in the build-up.
Buoyed by that impressive victory, Spurs started brightly at the King Power Stadium and took the lead on 14 minutes courtesy of a scruffy Rodrigo Bentancur goal.
But then came a spectacular collapse.
A stunning strike from Nampalys Mendy drew Leicester level before goals from James Maddison, Kelechi Iheanacho and Harvey Barnes completed an emphatic turnaround.
It could have been even worse for Spurs because Barnes had another goal disallowed due to a tight offside call.
Tottenham had not lost a game by a margin of three goals since October 2021 when they suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to Manchester United.
Former manager Nuno Espirito Santo was fired shortly after that match.
