Manchester United forward Antony appeared on television in Brazil on Friday to deny multiple allegations of assault.

Police in Brazil and England are currently investigating a report of domestic abuse made by Antony's ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin.

Ms Cavallin has claimed that she was headbutted by Antony in a Manchester hotel room in January and also punched in the chest, causing damage to a breast implant.

Another woman, Ingrid Lana, recently alleged that she was "pushed against a wall" by Antony at his home in England last October.

Brazil responded to the allegations made against Antony by dropping him from their most recent squad.

But Antony has insisted that he has never been guilty of physical violence against a woman.

Speaking to SBT, he said on Friday: "I never attacked any woman. The truth will come out".

Asked about violence towards women, he replied: "It's totally wrong, 100% wrong. I have a mother, a sister. I would never want this to happen to them."

On being dropped by Brazil, he added: "It was difficult. It made me really sad, because it's something that I'm 100% sure is not true.

"It's not easy, we work and fight to make our dreams come true, even more so when we wear the Brazilian team shirt."

Antony had previously said in a statement published on social media: "My relationship with Ms Gabriela was tumultuous, with verbal offenses from both sides, but I never practiced any physical aggression."
