Arsenal Beat Newcastle To Guarantee Top-Two Finish In Premier League

Arsenal are guaranteed to finish first or second in the Premier League this season after winning 2-0 away at third-placed Newcastle United on Sunday.

Martin Odegaard fired the Gunners in front from long range with his 15th goal of the season before Gabriel Martinelli forced an own goal out of Fabian Schar.

Arsenal's win took them to within just one point of leaders Manchester City.

But City have four games left to play, while Arsenal only have three fixtures remaining.

Arsenal had not recorded a top-two finish since the 2015/16 season.

The three-time EPL champions had previously finished first or second in eight straight seasons between 1997/98 and 2004/05.
