Assistant Referee Constantine Hatzidakis To Resume EPL Duties After FA Closes Investigation Into Clash With Andy Robertson
The assistant referee who appeared to strike Andy Robertson with his elbow last weekend is set to resume his role as a Premier League official.
Linesman Constantine Hatzidakis was suspended from match duties on Monday, less than 24 hours after the incident involving Robertson at half-time in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
The PGMOL, the organization in charge of professional referees in England, had said that Hatzidakis would not be appointed to any more games until an investigation by the Football Association into the incident had been concluded.
That investigation was closed on Thursday. An FA statement read: "We have thoroughly reviewed all of the evidence in relation to the recent incident at Anfield involving the Liverpool defender and match official, and we will be taking no further action.
"Our comprehensive process involved reviewing detailed statements from Liverpool and PGMOL, as well as multiple angles of video footage, in relation to both the incident and its surrounding circumstances."

The FA's verdict came after Hatzidakis had contacted Robertson to apologize.
However, Hatzidakis maintains that he did not deliberately strike the player.
"I look forward to returning to officiating matches," said Hatzidakis in a statement of his own on Thursday.
"I fully assisted the FA with their investigation and have discussed the matter directly with Andy Robertson during an open and positive conversation.
"It was certainly not my intention to make any contact with Andy as I pulled my arm away from him and for that I have apologized."
Hatzidakis will not officiate in any games this coming weekend as the appointments for those matches were made while he was still under investigation.
But the 38-year-old is likely to return to the sideline during matchweek 32, which includes fixtures from April 21 to 23.
