Barcelona have won the UEFA Women's Champions League for the second time in three seasons but they did it the hard way against Wolfsburg.

The Spanish champions went into Saturday's final at the Philips Stadion as strong favorites to beat their German counterparts.

However, that was no longer the case at half-time after Ewa Pajor and Alexandra Popp had fired Wolfsburg into a 2-0 lead.

Barcelona stormed back in the second half though, blowing Wolfsburg away to earn a priceless 3-2 win.

Two goals from Patricia Guijarro drew Barca level within five minutes of the restart before Fridolina Rolfo completed the comeback midway through the half.

Pajor ended the tournament as the Golden Boot winner, having scored eight goals this season.

Meanwhile, Barca midfielder Aitana Bonmati topped the rankings in terms of assists, having set up seven goals.

Bonmati was subbed off in the 90th minute on Saturday to make way for two-time Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas.

This was the first time that Putellas had featured in the Women's Champions League this season, having spent most of the campaign recovering from an ACL injury.
