Tournament favorites Brazil have named their squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Brazil announced their 26-man party on Monday, 12 days before they face Serbia in their opening game in Qatar.

All but four of the players called up currently play their domestic soccer in Europe.

Just three squad members are based in Brazil - third-choice keeper Weverton, midfielder Everton Ribeiro and striker Pedro.

Meanwhile, former PSG and Barcelona right-back Dani Alves is currently contracted to UNAM in Mexico.

At the age of 39, Alves will be one of the oldest players at Qatar 2022.

There are 12 Premier League players in the Brazil squad, including forwards Antony, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Richarlison. But Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino did not make the cut.

Brazil's midfield options in Qatar will comprise almost exclusively of English-based players, including Manchester United duo Casemiro and Fred.

Real Madrid are represented in Brazil's squad by center-back Eder Militao, as well as forwards Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior.
