Chelsea Fans Sing for Jose Mourinho and Aim Offensive Chant at Mauricio Pochettino
Chelsea fans at Brentford chanted the name of former manager Jose Mourinho during Saturday's 2-2 draw in the Premier League.
Mourinho is currently out of work after being sacked by Roma in January.
The 61-year-old previously had two spells in charge of Chelsea and - although both of those also ended with him being fired - he is arguably the most successful manager in the club's history.
Chelsea legend Mourinho delivered eight trophies to Stamford Bridge, including three Premier League titles - in 2005, 2006 and 2015.
In contrast, current Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino has never won a trophy in England, despite coming close with former club Tottenham.
Pochettino has only been at Chelsea since July but a vocal section of the fanbase already appears to have run out of patience with him.
In addition to the "Jose Mourinho" chants on Saturday, fans were heard singing "f*** off Mauricio" to the same tune - that of La donna è mobile from Verdi's opera Rigoletto.
Blues fans also chanted in support of former owner Roman Abramovich, as well as calling his replacement, Todd Boehly, "a c***".
Pochettino was asked about the offensive chanting in his post-match press conference.
He replied, as quoted by football.london: "I've been told but I did not hear, to be honest. That is why it is difficult for me to understand.
"I don't know. I need to believe what you are telling me but it is normal. We were losing the game 2-1 and it's about [the fans trying] to express their frustration and we are responsible. I am responsible. I am the head coach."
When asked if he was worried about his relationship with the Chelsea fans, Pochettino said: "No, I am not worried. We need to accept. I told you, I think someone asked me do you feel the love from the fans? No. We need to build our relationship between the coaching staff, the coach and the fans.
"You build relationships by winning games. But at the moment, the expectation, we cannot match the expectation."
He later added: "We need to manage the reality. We are working really, really hard to try and win games. The team is fighting."
Chelsea have now taken 36 points from 26 Premier League games under Pochettino.
