Jurgen Klopp Impressed By "Exceptional" Trent Alexander-Arnold Replacement
Jurgen Klopp was very impressed by the performance of 20-year-old Conor Bradley during Liverpool's 2-1 win over Fulham in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.
Bradley played the full 90 minutes at right-back as he stood in for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was recently ruled out for around three weeks with a knee injury.
Alexander-Arnold is expected to miss Liverpool's next three matches and perhaps more.
On Wednesday's evidence, Bradley could prove to be a very capable replacement.
The Northern Ireland international, who has been capped 13 times, made six successful tackles against Fulham - three more than any of his teammates.
Bradley also impressed going forward as he made two key passes and won two free-kicks.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Liverpool manager Klopp said of Bradley: "Exceptional, what a boy, what fantastic character and the potential.
"He is in the right team, everyone loves him and respects him and wants him to succeed."
Bradley joined Liverpool from Dungannon Swifts in 2019.
He has now featured in 10 first-team matches for the Reds, after making his debut in the 2021/22 season.
Bradley spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Bolton Wanderers, featuring in 53 matches for the League One side.
He has not yet played in the Premier League but that is likely to change on January 21 when Liverpool visit Bournemouth.
