Copa America 2024 Draw: Brazil Could Face USA In Last Eight But Neither Can Meet Argentina Until After Semi-Finals
The draw for the 2024 Copa America tournament took place in Miami on Thursday night.
Argentina and Brazil were drawn in opposite halves as they went into Group A and D respectively.
No team from Group A or B can face a team from Group C or D until the final or third-place play-off.
Argentina were drawn in Group A alongside Peru, Chile and either Canada or Trinidad and Tobago.
The winner of Group A will play the runner-up from Group B in the quarter-finals and vice versa.
Group B is made up of Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela and Jamaica.
The United States will play in Group C against Uruguay, Panama and Bolivia.
Group D comprises of Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay and either Costa Rica or Honduras.
Should host nation USA and nine-time champions Brazil finish first and second (or second and first) in their respective groups then they will meet in the quarter-finals.
The USMNT will play group games in Arlington, Atlanta and Kansas City.
If Gregg Berhalter's side progress beyond the group phase then their quarter-final will take place in either Paradise or Glendale.
The final will be held on July 14 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
