Cristiano Ronaldo Praises Saudi Arabia's Impact On Sports And Says He "Can't Stop Being Amazed" After VIP Visit To Boxing Event
Cristiano Ronaldo was among the VIP guests at Saturday night's big boxing event in Riyadh.
The Al Nassr captain sat ringside to watch Deontay Wilder's fight against Joseph Parker followed by the headline clash between Anthony Joshua and Otto Wallin.
Ronaldo - who was dressed in a jazzy green Gucci jacket - attended the event with son Cristiano Jr and briefly rubbed shoulders with UFC legend Conor McGregor.
Saudi Arabia has now hosted many of the biggest events in boxing over the past five years - including Joshua's rematch victory over Andy Ruiz in 2019 and the British fighter's defeat by Oleksandr Usyk in 2022.
Ronaldo took to Instagram on Saturday to express how impressed he has been with the country's ability to put on top sporting shows.
He wrote: "Taking sports to a whole new dimension. Unparalleled vision and execution. Can't stop being amazed."
Ronaldo included three emojis in his Instagram post - a bicep, a fist and the Saudi flag.
This was not the first time that Ronaldo had used social media to promote Saudi Arabia.
Earlier this month, the 38-year-old - who is the most-followed individual on Instagram - shared two photos of himself and girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez at AlUla, an ancient Arabic oasis city located in the Medina Province.
He captioned those pictures with the words: "AlUla, where ancient history meets a modern [love emoji] story."
Ronaldo has been based in Saudi Arabia since signing for Al Nassr at the start of 2023.
He has scored 41 goals in 48 matches for Al Nassr, including one in a 3-1 win over Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq on Friday.
