Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo said he was "extremely proud" after leading his side to glory in the Arab Club Champions Cup.

Ronaldo, 38, scored two goals as Al Nassr came from behind with 10 men to beat Al-Hilal 2-1 after extra time in Saturday's final.

That brace took Ronaldo's tally of goals to six in six Arab Club Champions Cup games and he ended the tournament with the Golden Boot.

After the game, Ronaldo posted seven photos to Instagram alongside the words: "Extremely proud to [have] helped the team winning this important trophy for the 1st time!

"Thank you to everyone in the club that was involved in this great achievement and to my family and friends for always being by my side!

"Fantastic support by our fans! This also belongs to you!"

This year's tournament was the 30th edition of the Arab Club Champions Cup but Al Nassr had never previously won it.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo had not won a team trophy since May 2021 when he was part of the Juventus side that lifted the Coppa Italia.

Al Nassr will now begin their Saudi Pro League campaign with a trip to Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq on Monday.

The Riyadh club last won the national title in the 2018/19 season.
