Cristiano Ronaldo Slams Erik Ten Hag As Well As Man United's "Zero" Progress Since 2013
Cristiano Ronaldo has hit out at Manchester United and manager Erik ten Hag during a 90-minute interview with journalist and friend Piers Morgan.
The interview is set to air on TV over Wednesday and Thursday but some clips have already emerged on social media.
Ronaldo said that he has no respect for Ten Hag and that he has felt "betrayed" by multiple figures at Old Trafford.
"I don't have respect for him because he doesn't show respect for me," Ronaldo said during the interview.
He added: "Honestly, I shouldn't say this. But listen, I don't care. People should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed and I felt that some people they don't want me here.
"Not only this year, but last year too."
Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford in August 2021, 12 years after leaving the club to join Real Madrid.
During his first spell with United, Ronaldo won three Premier League titles.
But United have not been champions of England once since former manager Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
Ronaldo said: "Since Sir Alex Ferguson left I saw no evolution in the club, the progress was zero."
He added: "Nothing changed. Not only the pool, the jacuzzi, even the gym. Even some points of technology. Even the kitchen, the chefs, who I appreciate and they are lovely people, they stopped in time, which surprised me a lot.
"I thought I would have seen different things [when I came back], different technology, infrastructure. But unfortunately we see many things that I used to see when I was 20, 21, 23. It surprised me a lot."
News that Ronaldo had given this interview broke just hours after United had beaten Fulham 2-1 with a last-minute winner from 18-year-old Alejandro Garnacho.
Ronaldo's contract with United is due to expire in June 2023.
