Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal Complete Perfect Euro 2024 Qualifying Campaign
Cristiano Ronaldo captained Portugal to a 2-0 win over Iceland on Sunday as Robert Martinez's side completed a perfect Euro 2024 qualifying campaign.
Portugal finished top of Group J with 10 wins out of 10 games, having scored 36 goals and conceded just two.
Ronaldo, 38, netted 10 of those goals and assisted two of them.
But it was Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes who opened the scoring in Lisbon on Sunday with a fine low finish from the corner of the 18-yard box on 37 minutes.
Braga winger Ricardo Horta then doubled Portugal's lead midway through the second half by tapping in a rebound after Ronaldo had been denied his 11th goal of the campaign by Iceland keeper Hakon Valdimarsson.
After winning Group J, Portugal will be among the top-seeded teams when the Euro 2024 draw takes place on December 2.
