Erling Haaland Breaks Another Record By Scoring 45th Goal Of Season For Manchester City
Erling Haaland broke another record on Tuesday night as Manchester City hammered Bayern Munich 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
The 22-year-old netted his 45th goal of the season for City as Pep Guardiola's side took control of their Champions League quarter-final in the first leg.
Haaland is the first player ever to score 45 club goals in a single season, across all competitions, while playing for a Premier League team.
The record had previously been shared by Ruud van Nistelrooy and Mohamed Salah.
Dutch striker Van Nistelrooy scored 44 goals in 52 appearances for Manchester United during the 2002/03 campaign.
Egyptian forward Salah then equaled that record with 44 goals in 52 games for Liverpool in the 2017/18 season.
Haaland's first 45 goals of the current campaign have come in his first 39 matches for City.
