Manchester United avoided rivals Manchester City in Sunday's draw for the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

United will instead face Coventry of the EFL Championship, while City will take on Chelsea.

These matches will take place at London's Wembley Stadium over the weekend of April 20 and 21.

FA Cup semi-final draw

  • Coventry vs. Manchester United
  • Manchester City vs. Chelsea

If both Manchester clubs win in the semis then this season's FA Cup final will be a repeat of last season's - when City beat United 2-1 at Wembley.

That was the first time ever that a Manchester derby had been contested in an FA Cup final.

Sunday's semi-final draw was made immediately after United beat Liverpool 4-3 at Old Trafford in the sixth round.

There were also goals aplenty earlier in the day at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea beat Leicester 4-2 despite a bizarre own goal by Axel Disasi.

Holders Man City booked their place in the semi-finals for the sixth season in a row on Saturday by beating Newcastle 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

The first winners of a pulsating FA Cup quarter-final weekend were Coventry, who beat Wolves 3-2.
