Frank Lampard To Be Appointed As Chelsea Interim Manager Before Away Game At Wolves On Saturday
Frank Lampard is poised to return to Chelsea as interim manager until the end of the season.
The club legend watched from the stands at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday as Bruno Saltor oversaw a 0-0 draw against Liverpool.
Bruno had been put in temporary charge of the first team following the sacking of Graham Potter on Sunday.
That is likely to be Bruno's only game as Blues boss.
It is understood that Lampard is very close to agreeing a short-term return to his former club and he is likely to be in place before Saturday's Premier League away game at Wolves.
Lampard took charge of 84 games during his previous spell as Chelsea manager between July 2019 and January 2021, winning 44 (52.4%) of them.
The former midfielder, who won the Premier League three times as a player with Chelsea and holds the club record for most goals scored, has been out of work since being fired by Everton earlier this year.
Lampard won 12 of his 44 matches with Everton.
