Bayern Munich Battered By Frankfurt As Harry Kane Suffers First Bundesliga Defeat
Harry Kane suffered the first defeat of his Bundesliga career on Saturday when Bayern Munich fell to a resounding 5-1 loss at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Kane had scored a remarkable 18 goals in his first 12 Bundesliga games but the England captain drew a blank in Bayern's heaviest league loss since November 2019.
Frankfurt stormed into a 3-0 lead inside the opening 36 minutes courtesy of strikes from Omar Marmoush, Junior Dina Ebimbe and Hugo Larsson.
Joshua Kimmich got a goal back for Bayern just before half-time. But Dina Ebimbe scored again five minutes into the second period before Ansgar Knauff got Frankfurt's fifth.
Kane did not register a shot on target until the 86th minute when he was thwarted by Frankfurt keeper Kevin Trapp.
Saturday's defeat saw Bayern miss the chance to go top of the table.
Title rivals Bayer Leverkusen can now move six points clear of Bayern by beating Stuttgart on Sunday.
