Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has been directly involved in 20 Premier League goals this season after scoring his 15th in Friday's 3-3 draw with Southampton.

Martinelli, who also has five EPL assists to his name this season, was set up by Bukayo Saka for his 20th-minute volleyed strike at the Emirates Stadium.

Saka now has 11 Premier League assists this term and the England international scored his 13th EPL goal of the campaign later in Friday's game.

Martinelli and Saka are the first pair of teammates aged 21 or under to each record at least 20 goal involvements in a Premier League season since 2007.

The only other U21 duo to both get to 20 in terms of goals and assists combined in a single EPL campaign was Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.

Ronaldo recorded 17 goals and eight assists for Manchester United in the 2006/07 campaign, while Rooney registered 14 goals and 11 assists that season.

Martinelli's fine finish on Friday also saw him equal the record for most goals scored by a Brazilian player in a single EPL season.

He is now tied with Roberto Firmino, who scored 15 goals in 37 games for Liverpool during the 2017/18 campaign.
