Gerard Pique Sent Off In Final Act As Barcelona Player After Verbal Assault On Referee

Gerard Pique was sent off during Barcelona's 2-1 win at Osasuna on Tuesday night.
The 35-year-old had said an emotional goodbye to Barcelona fans at the Camp Nou three days earlier following a 2-0 win over Almeria.
It was widely assumed that the Almeria game would be Pique's final appearance for Barcelona after he announced that he would be retiring midway through the season.
But manager Xavi Hernandez included him on the subs bench on Tuesday night for Barca's last fixture before the World Cup.
Pique never made it onto the pitch for one final time though because he was shown a red card at the end of the first half.
His dismissal was the result of dissent after Pique angrily confronted referee Jesus Gil Manzano at half-time.

Manzano had earlier sent off Robert Lewandowski for two cautionable offenses.
Barcelona were 1-0 down at half-time when Pique harassed the ref.
David Garcia had headed Osasuna into a sixth-minute lead from a corner.
According to a rough translation by ESPN journalist Samuel Marsden, Pique is alleged to have said to the referee: "Have you seen the corner [for the Osasuna goal]?
"You are the referee that has f****d us the most by a distance. You are a f***ing disgrace, go f*** yourself."
Barca defied their numerical disadvantage after the interval as their 10 men stormed back to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Pedri and Raphinha.
