Harry Kane: "I'd Love To Play With Messi"

England captain Harry Kane has said that he would love to play in the same team as Lionel Messi.

Kane, 30, has been in sensational form since joining Bayern Munich this summer.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has netted 19 goals in his first 15 games for the German giants.

Those goals have been assisted by nine different teammates, including the likes of Alphonso Davies, Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman.

But Kane playfully hinted during an interview with ESPN UK this week that he would possibly be able to score even more goals if he had Messi on his team.

Kane was asked to name a player that he would like to have played alongside.

Without hesitation, he replied: "I mean, I'd love to play with Messi. Yeah, one of the greatest players ever to play our game.

"I'm sure he'd be able to give me a few assists."

Messi won the Ballon d'Or for a record-extending eighth time last month. Kane came 19th in the vote for the 2023 award.

Messi's eighth Ballon d'Or was largely seen as recognition for his performances at the 2022 FIFA World Cup where he led Argentina to a famous triumph.

But the 36-year-old has also produced some impressive displays since then.

Messi scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 14 games in his first season with Inter Miami, after moving to the United States from Paris Saint-Germain in July.

Two of those goals came in Major League Soccer but Messi also scored 10 times in seven matches in the Leagues Cup to inspire Miami to the first trophy in the club's history.
