Kane found the net with a powerful header in first-half stoppage time during Tottenham's 1-0 home win over Crystal Palace.
It has taken Kane 317 games to score 209 Premier League goals. All of those goals have been for Spurs but Kane also made three EPL appearances for Norwich in the 2012/13 season.
Meanwhile, Rooney's 208 EPL goals came in 491 appearances for Everton and Manchester United.
The only player above Kane in terms of Premier League goals is Alan Shearer.
Shearer, who retired in 2006, holds the tournament record after scoring 260 times in 441 games for Blackburn and Newcastle.
