Bayern Munich have lost three games in a row for the first time since 2015 after falling to a 3-2 defeat at Bochum on Sunday.

That result left Bayern eight points behind Bundesliga title rivals Bayer Leverkusen, who beat Thomas Tuchel's side 3-0 last weekend.

Bayern took the lead on Sunday when Jamal Musiala smashed a powerful strike into the roof of the net in the 14th minute.

But goals from Takuma Asano and Keven Schlotterbeck put Bochum in front before half-time.

Kevin Stoger then extended the home team's lead late in the second half by converting a penalty past Manuel Neuer.

That spot-kick had been conceded by Dayot Upamecano, who was sent off for the second time in five days as a consequence, having also seen red in Wednesday's 1-0 Champions League defeat at Lazio.

Harry Kane gave 10-man Bayern a glimmer of hope by scoring his 29th goal for the club but it was too little too late.

Bayern's defeat came 24 hours after Leverkusen had won 2-1 at FC Heidenheim.

It also came just five months after Bayern had thrashed Bochum 7-0 in Munich.
