Inter Milan KO AC Milan In Champions League To Reach Sixth Final
Inter Milan are European Cup finalists for the sixth time in the club's history after defeating city rivals AC Milan in a one-sided semi-final.
Less than a week after beating their neighbors 2-0 in the first leg, Inter completed the job with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday to wrap up a 3-0 aggregate win.
Lautaro Martinez scored the only goal of the game on Tuesday with a fierce left-footed strike in the 74th minute after playing a one-two with Romelu Lukaku.
But Inter could easily have won by a greater margin had it not been for three saves made by Mike Maignan.
Conversely, AC Milan recorded just two shots on target across both legs of this semi-final.
In truth, it was easy for Inter at times.
That is unlikely to be the case in the final on June 10 when Inter will take on either 14-time champions Real Madrid or Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Real have reached 17 finals in the history of the European Cup, including eight since the tournament was rebranded as the Champions League in 1992.
Inter were last in a Champions League final in 2010 when Jose Mourinho masterminded a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in Madrid.
