Jadon Sancho Says Rejoining Dortmund From Man United Feels Like "Coming Home"
Jadon Sancho is delighted to have returned "home" after rejoining former club Borussia Dortmund on loan from Manchester United.
The 23-year-old signed a loan contract with Dortmund on Thursday that will see him stay with the Bundesliga side until June 30.
Sancho first joined Dortmund back in 2017 following spells in the youth teams of Watford and Manchester City.
He went on to score 50 goals in 137 matches for Dortmund before United signed him in 2021 for an initial transfer fee of £73 million.
Sancho netted 12 times in 79 appearances across his first two seasons at Old Trafford before he fell out with manager Erik ten Hag last year.
He was banished from the United first team in September after publicly calling Ten Hag a liar.
However, Sancho is hopeful that he can get his career back on track at Signal Iduna Park.
Speaking on Thursday, Sancho told BVB.com: "When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like 'coming home'.
"I know the club inside and out, I've always been very close with the fans here, and I've never lost contact with those in charge.
"I can't wait to see my teammates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, assist goals, score goals and help us qualify for the Champions League."
Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl added: "Jadon is an absolute difference player and I'm looking forward to seeing him back in black and yellow soon.
"He knows this city, Signal Iduna Park, our fans and our club. Even though he hasn't played any competitive games in the past few months, we are sure that he will quickly settle back in with us, get into top form and use his qualities to help us achieve our goals for the season."
Sancho's loan deal does not include an option for Dortmund to sign him permanently.
His current contract with United is due to expire in June 2026.
