NFL legend JJ Watt was at Turf Moor on Monday to watch Burnley in action against Cardiff City on the final day of the EFL Championship regular season.

Watt and his wife Kealia, who is a former USWNT soccer player, recently became minority investors in the Lancashire club.

Burnley had already won the league but had yet to lift the trophy in front of their home fans.

That trophy was presented to the team after a 3-0 victory over Cardiff.

After the players had all got their hands on the trophy, Watt lifted it too.

Watt was pictured drinking a pint of Guinness in a local pub before Monday's game.

Responding on Twitter to a fan who had posted a photo of him, Watt wrote: "Everyone here has been incredibly kind and welcoming.

"Let's lift a trophy and have ourselves a parade!"

Monday's comfortable victory over Cardiff saw Burnley end the season with 101 points.

No side had earned more than 100 points in a Championship campaign since Leicester in 2013/14.
