Kyle Walker Praises "Incredible" Cole Palmer After Man City Youngster Stars In UEFA Super Cup Final
Kyle Walker described Manchester City teammate Cole Palmer as "incredible" following his performance in Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup final.
Palmer equalized for City with a fine headed effort in the 63rd minute after Youssef En-Nesyri had put Sevilla in front in the first half.
Following a 1-1 draw in normal time, City then beat Sevilla 5-4 in a penalty shootout to win the third European trophy in the club's 143-year history.
Palmer did not take a penalty, having been substituted off in the 85th minute.
But the 21-year-old was one of City's best players on the night.
Palmer touched the ball 72 times and registered four shots - more than any other City player. He also completed four successful dribbles and two key passes.
Speaking about Palmer to TNT Sports after the game, Walker - who captained City against Sevilla - said: "This guy is incredible and he's got good players to learn off and probably the best manager in the world.
"He needs to keep going, keep his feet on the floor - which he does really well - and keep scoring the goals. He's got one in the Community Shield and one in the Super Cup now, so if he keeps improving - and keeps listening to me behind him - he'll be fine."
Palmer, who also spoke to TNT Sports, was asked if he was playing his best football right now, having won the U21 European Championship with England earlier this summer.
He replied: "No, not yet. Obviously it's early in the season, so I just have to kick on from here."
