Liverpool Player Ratings: 8/10 Alisson Shines In Win At Crystal Palace
Liverpool won 2-1 at Crystal Palace in Saturday's early game to climb to the top of the Premier League.
The Reds fell behind to a Jean-Philippe Mateta penalty kick in the 57th minute but scored twice late on after Jordan Ayew was sent off for receiving two yellow cards.
Mo Salah drew Liverpool level via a big deflection to score his 200th goal for the club.
Substitute Harvey Elliott then scored a brilliant winner in added time.
But the Player of the Match was goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who faced four shots on target - two more than Liverpool produced at the other end.
Liverpool Player Ratings
Alisson Becker - 8/10
Back after three games out with a hamstring injury. Looked sharp upon his return. Produced a superb save to deny Jefferson Lerma in the 27th minute and another to prevent a Palace equalizer deep into added time.
Trent Alexander-Arnold - 7/10
After looking vulnerable defensively in the first 45 minutes, the Reds right-back was moved into central midfield at half-time. Ironically, his best defensive contributions came following his switch to midfield, including a fine near-post block. In terms of offensive play, he made six key passes - more than any other player.
Virgil van Dijk - 5/10
Gave away a penalty in the first half for bringing down Odsonne Edouard but, luckily for him, that spot-kick was eventually unawarded after a VAR review ruled that Will Hughes had fouled Wataru Endo moments earlier.
Jarell Quansah - 4/10
Joel Matip's ACL injury has given 20-year-old Quansah an opportunity to prove he has a big future at Liverpool. He was picked ahead of Ibrahima Konate to start at Selhurst Park. But Quansah was replaced by Konate in the 56th minute immediately after conceding a penalty.
Kostas Tsimikas - 6/10
Played the full 90 minutes at left-back and did ok. But Liverpool have really missed Andy Robertson since he injured his shoulder in October.
Wataru Endo - 5/10
Committed three fouls before being subbed off at half-time for Joe Gomez, who was brought on to play at right-back.
Ryan Gravenberch - 4/10
Making his fifth Premier League start, the 21-year-old Dutchman failed to get a hold of the game in a fierce midfield battle before being hooked on 56 minutes.
Dominik Szoboszlai - 5/10
After some superb performances in recent weeks, the Hungarian had an off-day at Selhurst Park. He was taken off in the 74th minute to make way for Elliott, who scored a fine winner.
Mo Salah - 7/10
Struggled to get into the game in the first half but started Liverpool's comeback by scoring his 200th goal for the club in the second.
Luis Diaz - 6/10
Impressed in flashes and had a late goal disallowed for a tight offside call.
Darwin Nunez - 5/10
Battled hard and was a physical threat throughout his 74 minutes on the field but had fewer touches than any other Liverpool starter.
