Manchester United Complete Nottingham Forest Rout To Reach 10th EFL Cup Final
Manchester United have become only the second team in the history of the EFL Cup to qualify for at least 10 finals.
United booked their 10th final appearance by beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 in Wednesday's semi-final second leg.
The Red Devils had won the first leg 3-0 at the City Ground seven days earlier.
Forest battled hard at Old Trafford but conceded twice in four minutes late in the second half as Anthony Martial and Fred extended the aggregate score to 5-0.
Both of United's goals were assisted by Marcus Rashford, who had started the game on the bench.
United will play Newcastle in the 2022/23 final at Wembley on February 26.
It will be Newcastle's second EFL Cup final appearance, after they lost 2-1 to Manchester City in the 1976 event.
Liverpool have contested 13 EFL Cup finals, winning nine and losing four.
United have won five and lost four of their previous nine finals.
Four other clubs have competed in exactly nine EFL Cup finals, including Manchester City, who have won eight and lost just one.
