Matt Turner Leaves Arsenal To Join Nottingham Forest On Four-Year Deal
USMNT goalkeeper Matt Turner has joined Nottingham Forest from Arsenal.
He has signed a four-year contract with Forest, who will reportedly pay Arsenal a transfer fee in the region of £10 million.
The 29-year-old had only been a Gunners player since last summer when he moved to the Emirates Stadium from MLS side New England Revolution.
Turner made seven appearances for Arsenal last season but none in the Premier League.
He could ironically now make his EPL debut against Arsenal, with Forest set to start the new season with a trip to the Emirates on Saturday.
Turner said in his first official interview with nottinghamforest.co.uk on Wednesday: "It feels great to be here. It's something I'm really looking forward to, it's a great challenge and a great step in my career."
He added: "When I heard that there was interest to bring me here, it just felt right for my family, it felt right when my agent spoke to me about it and it feels like the right move for me right now.
"The manager and the backroom staff, everything about the club has a little sparkle to it. It's felt right from the start and I'm happy it's got done.
"I'm looking forward to making a connection with my teammates, the fans and the city. I'm grateful to be here and can't wait to get things started."
Turner has been capped 32 times by the United States at senior international level.
He featured in two matches at the CONCACAF Gold Cup this summer, saving two penalties in a quarter-final shootout win over Canada.
